A second mixed bag of Music for Autumn

By popular request, a second autumnal miscellany as the clocks go back. Spirituals, folk songs. madrigals, lullabies, music from old to brand new in this lovely setting.

CAROL SINGING

CB will be carol singing around Hartswood Road, thru St Peter’s Square to Chiswick Mall with possible stops at the Cross Keys and singing at the table in the Haweli restaurant on the corner of King Street/Black Lion Lane

Concert at Sedbury Park, Chepstow

“Sumer is icumen in” A spring concert of 5 part vocal music, mediaeval to modern for St Luke’s Tutshill roof appeal. Given in the splendid venue of Sedbury Park House, now the Nursing Home, the programme includes music by Hildegard, Monteverdi, Grieg, Tavener, Wilbye and Harper with Welsh folksongs, lullabies and spirituals. Refreshments from 7pm, first drink included in the ticket price of £10 (£7 concessions) on the door with a £1 reduction if booked in advance from the Rainbow Centre, 38 Moor St, Chepstow or Anne Harvey tel 01291628679. CONCERT FOR MUSEQUALITY – 24 January 2009

St Michael and All Angels, Bath Road W4

We are delighted to be sharing this programme at St Michael and All Angels, Chiswick with David Juritz, the well known leader of the London Mozart Players and founder of Musequality. You will be able to enjoy solo violin, violin with voices and up to 5 part unaccompanied voice in a varied and exciting programme. All proceeds will go to Musequality.

Celia’s Songs of Gloucestershire

  • Not strictly CB but of interest to many CB fans…….12 October 2008 at 4 pm, Composers Present concert at Holy Innocents Music Society Holy Innocents Church, Paddenswick Road, W6. MICHAEL GEORGE (Bass baritone) will premiere Celia’s “Songs of Gloucestershire”. Settings of poems by WW1 Gloucestershire poet F W Harvey , contemporary and friend of Ivor Gurney. The concert will also include music by John Carmichael, Julian Dawes, Andrew Wells and Lloyd Buck.

Wendell Park Fair, Wendell Road, London W12

a singing spot at the fair in Wendell Park W12 at 1.30pm spirituals and fun songs. Followed by an open rehearsal in St Saviour Wendell Park church beside the park from 2.15 – 3.30 pm approx. Drop in and out ….quietly please!
